Ending the first decade of the second millenium

So now it is fall of 2009....I went to the NJEA Convention last week--day trip via train--- and had big big fun. My main daily activities these days include tax classes with H&R Block (second year) and phone room volunteering with CONTACT of Burlington County ...oh and let's not forget Facebook....what a trip getting back in touch with fifth graders of yesteryear, now fully grown!

Tom and I love to dance and go to Prospectors frequently. We have a couple of vacations coming up, but not to interfere with tax season (last year Florida, a Carribbean cruise, and three weeks in Hawaii took the foreground, pre-planned, took the bite out of my tax season. We'll see what happens this year)

Jeff and the other London Kayes live in New York now. :-)

Jessica is getting married in March.

Quick jump to July.....

So now it is July and we are embarking for the Jamboree in the Hills next week. How time flies!

We did everything I spoke of in the last post, and have been having a great life! (The stock market is worse than ever, though, sad to say and so is the economy. Gas prices have skyrocketed (currently averaging $4.00 a gallon here in NJ) and home sales have plummeted.

We have plans for Myrtle Beach in August, Jennifer coming East in October, a week in Florida followed by a cruise in January-ish...........three weeks in Hawaii in March-April, and a week in Las Vegas in late April (for the national bowling thing again). We need to figure out a place for like June to do with our banked points in RCI. ...then it will be JITH again...and our tenth wedding anniversary (in 2009) Wow.

Jan. 2008 now...time flies, eh?

I am leaving for Prospectors in ten minutes.
Since my last post, we have been to Myrtle Beach, San Francisco, and Orlando.
We are going to NYC Saturday for a day trip to meet up with Oregon Marc for dinner and a show (and we are bravely taking the train!)
Jan. 26 we head for Ft. Lauderdale for the Prospectors crowd cruise Jan. 27-Feb. 2.
We still need a flight, but we plan to be in Miami Feb. 29 to March 7.
Then a weekend with George and Dor (and Laura and the h.s. too maybe) for Tom's birthday in April.
April will also be Phoenix/Albequerque.
May brings us to Myrtle Beach (and so does August).
July, of course is back to JITH, but this time George and Dor will be there too.
Nice retirement! Love this life! (knock on wood, please!and knock on the stock market, while you're at it!)

Day 3 Jambo

Toby Keith was the highlight of an entertaining and sound filled Jamboree kind of day I had a lot of visits and comments from other JITH attendees as I sat in the sun reading my Harry Potter book (no, I still haven't finished it).
We caught up with the Michelle and Dave crew again, and also the Bill, Jeff, Patrick (without Patrick) crowd. A really nice part of annual attendance at the Jamboree in the Hills is reuniting with all the wonderful people we've met over the years.
Tomorrow is the last day. It goes so fast!

Telephone Class

I was really looking forward to learning how to use cell phones and the class we took was not a disappointment. Wow! There are so many little tricks we learned. I hope I remember everything (I wrote as fast as I could!)

It was held at the VerizonWireless store in Marlton. We had traffic and thunderstorm, and pouring rain on the way! But it was worth the drip, I mean trip. LOL

Activities preceding the cell phone info session were, working backwards, lunch at our favorite Chinese buffet, clothes shopping for me (with Tom's guidance and encouragement), and some financial restructuring (always a scary proposition). (Thanks, Margie, for looking into the case of the shortened money!)

I hope it's nice tomorrow, weatherwise, for we are due for a water fun related day!

Summertime and the living is easy

Today was another hot one! Tom had x-rays at 10 and I had that shoulder MRI (open, thank goodness!) at 3. We were together for a lovely anniversary lunch and most of "Moonstruck"-to be continued after he gets home from bowling tonight.

I went to the CVS by the MRI place and there were so many police cars around. The little kids outside the store filled me in. It was a drug bust...of the fake prescription type. Excitement! Adventure! Who needs Reality TV?

Speaking of which....very sad story of the small plane that crashed into two houses near Orlando, FL. Another testament to living each day to its fullest because you never know.....

In other news, I am on the fast track to an MRI for my left shoulder pain. I went to an orthopedist on Monday and Tuesday at 3 I am scheduled for the imaging. Maybe my suffering is over! (It's only been a year and a half!)

Now that I am retired, golfing is something I do with my husband. It's fun and maybe someday I'll be good at it! 

It's the week-end and I'm almost "outta here".

62 degrees in NJ in February! What a winter! (but they are calling for the return of cold and snow next week....)

Unnaturally warm as it's been my heating bill is HUGE and the local government is trying to reassess my house at over 100 % higher (?!!!)than it is currently.

The good news is .....I don't have a newsletter or marking period's end hanging over my head for at least a week or two........and I hear they are encouraging us to do the next newsletter in "all color" for just $200 more. What a deal!

Tom just called from the golf course....my llittle Tiger Woods husband......

It's 2006...we are definitely in the future.
It is the week-end and I am leaving school any moment now, I'm sure.
Hooray and thanks to Jenn for getting our classroom printer to function once again, and to Steve for clearing the pencil sharpener.

I am heading out (late) for the DEA Social at Top Dog.
Tom had quite a day. The heater went out so he had to deal with that (and $130 later all is well), but he also had some igniter match explode and start like a fire in the kitchen...? so he lost a few tourney rounds.......? I will need further clarification of that..! But all is well now........
Hopefully the week-end will be all uphill!

Sharon and I made election phone calls Wednesday night.

Hi. Things look different around the old blog site. School has started again. I have to finish my newsletter....stat! The Fall Fest was great and having today off was wonderful.....but now I have to pay the piper. I'll come back another day when I have more time.......Bye

Hooray, it's the week-end at last!!! Funny how a week of school that included two Snow Days and one with a two-hour delayed opening seemed so long......Mine will start out with dancing and continue with a Legislative Conference (thank you for driving, Judy...!) tomorrow at the crack of dawn......Hey, somebody's gotta keep an eye on what 's going on........

Yes, I did do some schoolwork this morning (the fact that my comcast internet service was down was a very big help.....). I will do more this weekend. I will do it all. So there.
